fusionOne Closes $80M in Funding

That's a lot of money for a synch service. They're also in the crowded bed of buzz-of the-day Groove. I wonder how the different third parties plugged in the Groove platform will talk to one another? For instance, say you make a chat app that saves conversation transcripts, how much work will be required for the transcripts to keep in synch between devices using fusionOne?

Groove sure kept the page from Notes and Microsoft books about partnerships: have a lot of third-parties on board and let them sell your platform underneath their products and services. Will we have thousands of vertical P2P apps (Groove for dentists anyone)?
