Programs That Aren't on the Same Page
"Sad to say, we could be in for a stagnant period of Web development. The glory days of big ideas for useful Internet tools catching on quickly and being snapped up by the big players are fading. While entrepreneurs continue to polish nuggets that often contain good ideas, I expect it will be much harder in the future for them to attract enough money to survive."

It's true most web apps don't integrate much with one another for now, but that doesn't mean they won't. There are success stories out there, and there's hope to build a more useful web beyond AOL and Microsoft. Big distribution of course helps, but isn't the Internet about bottom-up user adoption? How else explain teenage HTML gods?
