SEC's Fair Disclosure Regulation is Working (So Far)
"Although Coker notes that many companies began opening up their calls in early 2000, after the SEC first proposed Regulation FD, this quarter it appears that 80 percent, and possibly more than 90 percent, have made their calls available to individual investors, particularly over the Web. This is in contrast to 1999, when 75 percent of firms had a policy of excluding all but the select analysts and Street types from these conference calls, contends Coker."
