What Genius Came Up With That?
"Have you ever bought an item because you thought it was just what you were looking for? Did you get home or to the office and weren’t you just dying to try out your new purchase? Weren’t you really happy when it did everything you hoped it would do? Then did you suddenly discover that someone had specified a label for this item that was not going to come off without a fight? And didn’t that just destroy your mood and didn’t you wonder . . . what genius came up with that?"
It's true many web sites have usability issues, but the physical world still has many too. Here's my theory for unexplained human instant combustion. Someone will badly design a item people use everyday, such as CD plastic wrappers that you have to fight with to open. The frustation felt by all poor consumers will accumulate as an invisible energy cloud till it strikes the ill-inspired designer. Call it divine justice if you're into faith-based activities.
