"Whitman: The biggest threat that I saw from both Amazon and Yahoo was: Were they going to figure out how to focus on the community and help the community be successful? Because the community builds these businesses. The only reason that I began to get a little less nervous about Amazon was after about six to eight weeks I noticed they had not put any discussion boards up."

She also makes comments on their future as a stand-alone company.
