Disenchanted links back to you

Disenchanted links back to you:

"If you have a response to a specific paragraph of an article, then adding a simple argument to the end of the link address will make that paragraph link back to you."

Cool, granular permalinks that link back to referrers. Notice how the previous sentence wouldn't make any sense at all to my mother. I don't know how you would notice that since you don't know my mother, but you get my point.

Walt's not-updated-enough-to-be-a-blog blog (alert! nonsensical threshold reached!) led me to this good article on the problems a blog faces if its owner is not disciplined. Jawohl!

(Cliché German word of the day is Jawohl, as in "Jawohl, Herr Kommandant". That's what the word discipline will conjure in the brain of a wacky Frenchman like me. Jawohl takes all its meaning if you click your heels while you say it.)

08/15/04 update: three years later, trackback is starting to become widely deployed, though it's still a bit rough on the edges.
