desktop vs. server power

John Robb:

"If my Palm or 3G wireless device needs more computing power than it has onboard, why not connect it to my PC? I already invested time, effort, and money in adding data to my PC. Let me utilize it."

That's why Windows XP is going to come with Remote Desktop (like Terminal Services, but from a desktop to another).

01/04/02 update: yes, a home terminal server would make sense, but now that I switched to Windows XP Pro, I can tell it's quite not that, because it's limited to one remote user at a time, and you can't use the host machine when it's acting as a desktop server. So I'll probably have to set up a boni fide server with Terminal Services. Would be nice to hook up notebooks and tablets (drool) to.
