Why are Socialist leaders getting a prominent spot on French TV tonight, when they didn't even have a candidate running in the second round? Oh, I forgot, Chirac was their candidate. What is it telling to the 6 million people or so who voted for Le Pen today? That they still don't count no matter what? That's a strange way to show them, as can be heard tonight: we understood you, we'll take your needs, fears and motivations into account. If only that was true. I strongly doubt though, that the very same politicians who led to the current situation, will somehow become able and willing to root out the causes extremist votes stem from.
