What is Open Studios?

Open Studios:

"Open Studios is a nonprofit organization dedicated to replenishing our precious Public Domain. We assist communities who wish to build community-based recording studios. The facilities provide FREE recording services for residents of the community and surrounding areas. In return, the users/participants are encouraged to place their works in the Public Domain."

Open Studios was co-founded by Tom Poe, who asked me to join them as an advisory board member. I think near-eternal copyrights granted to corporations restrain the proper work of forces within free markets, and impoverish collective culture as well. Media conglomerates and their lobbying associations, by far more intent on protecting their privileges than serving their customers, will look like medieval guilds to future historians.
