MyHosting.com CEO and President Tony Yustein, a former regional director for Microsoft, has interesting comments about how Microsoft perceives the hosting market and chose to optimize its products for dedicated hosting environments while neglecting shared hosting. Not a very smart thing to do because it opens a door for open source to attack them from the bottom up: many small businesses get started online with non-Microsoft products because of this policy, but it seems it’s changing with the Express editions of VS and SQL. And I’m intrigued by the "blending hosting" recently introduced by his company (LAMP and Windows within a single plan).
