"One would think from that piece of rhetoric that EDI had one foot in the grave. However, something interesting happened in the past four years. The use of EDI has increased significantly, and all indications suggest that its use will grow further. As a result, Web services and XML business frameworks (like ebXML) will need to prove their mettle against a persistent, efficient, and more affordable EDI."
