The Brits are not alone in proclaiming the end of the USofA’s independence. We French insist a US-based site has to comply with our local laws (and selective memory, since nobody complains about Yahoo! letting Frenchmen access to USSR memorabilia.)
Of course, you can also implement flawed workarounds, such as confusing language or place of residence for nationality.
